Glaiza De Castro on her relationship with David Rainey: “Hindi siya fling”
Actress Glaiza De Castro recently shared tell-tale signs that her relationship with her Irish fiancé David Rainey wasn’t a fling.
In the 9th episode of Lia Cruz’s podcast “What Glass Ceiling”, Glaiza shared that she met David in Siargao last 2018.
Music brought them together when her now-fiancé performed one of her all-time favorite songs, “Loaded” by Primal Scream, leading them to make their first talk together. At first thought, Glaiza assumed that it’s just a fling.
“Sa totoo lang, akala ko ano lang siya, Siargao flame. ‘Yung tipong wala lang ‘yan, nagpa-cute lang kami sa isa’t isa, ‘yung ganun. Nagandahan lang siya sa ‘kin, napogian lang ako sa kanya,” Glaiza shared.
Early on in their relationship, the actress already saw David’s good intentions when he told her his desire to meet her parents.

Looking back, Glaiza didn’t expect that she and David would go this far despite the long distance and cross-cultural differences.
According to her, I never saw myself in a long-distance relationship and it still seemed surreal for her that David was her partner in a long-distance relationship.
Glaiza also shared that they’re still trying to figure out how they can strengthen their relationship. Moreover, Glaiza shared that her relationship with David wasn’t a fling.
“Hindi siya fling na may expiry date kasi lahat ng relationships ko, may expiry date na three months, na parang kontrata lang sa soap opera na three months lang, isang season lang. Sa kanya nadagdagan nang nadagdagan ‘yung season,” Glaiza shared.
