In a report on CNN Philippines, Galvez and Dizon have completed their COVID-19 vaccine doses last week.

During Tuesday’s Presidential press briefing, Galvez and Dizon said that they received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine last March 29. Both of them got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from China’s Sinovac Biotech last March 1, 2021.

Recounting their experience, both Galvez and Dizon said that they only felt drowsy after receiving their second dose but didn’t experience any other major side effect after that.

Galvez, who was also the Chief Implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, said that a person somehow gained confidence once he/she got inoculated, but the precautions must still be there as well.

Tama po yung sinabi ni Presidente na once na bakunahan kayo nagkakaroon ng confidence, pero syempre nandoon pa rin po ang precautions,” Galvez said.

Dizon, who was also the Deputy Chief Implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, said that the public must continue to wear masks, to wash hands, and to avoid crowded places even if they got inoculated.

Dizon and Galvez were among the government officials first authorized by the interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) to receive their first dose ahead of others as they both lead the country’s vaccination efforts.

Other government officials were still not allowed to get their COVID-19 doses, except for governors and mayors in high-risk and critical areas — including the Greater Manila Area.

Earlier, Dizon said that the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) already approved the said proposal, with a go signal from President Rodrigo Duterte himself.

The simultaneous COVID-19 vaccination drive for senior citizens (A2 category) and persons with comorbidities (A3 category) was also ongoing in some cities in Metro Manila.
