According to the statement released by BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., they had received reports about violation of IATF protocols in the workplaces of some foreign executives of companies in the Philippines.

“We will be conducting an investigation on these reports, and if found with merit, will file immigration cases against aliens involved,” he said.

He added that criminal charges may also be filed against those foreigners violating the IATF rules.

On the other hand, Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente stressed that foreign nationals who disrespected the “persons of authority” might be tagged as “undesirable aliens.”

“Foreign nationals who disrespect symbols of our country and persons of authority are not welcome in the Philippines,” he said.

Meanwhile, it was just last year when the Bureau of Immigration banned a Spanish national to reenter the country following his altercation with a police officer in a subdivision in Makati.

It all started when the police officer noticed a househelper of certain Javier Salvador Parra watering plants outside their residence without wearing a face mask.

The two involved in an altercation which resulted into injuries.
