Suspect in Mauling Disconnector in Iloilo City Got Arrested, Cops Now Searching For His Colleagues
The suspect who is involved in mauling a disconnector of an electric distribution utility in Iloilo City has been arrested.
Previously, the video footage of violent residents mauling a disconnector trying to cut the line of customer who failed to pay bills. The online community criticized the suspects due to the incident.
In the video, it can be seen that the disconnector identified as Kevin James Cajilig of MORE Power Iloilo in Barangay Javellana, Jaro has been beaten up by unidentified residents in the area while doing his disconnecting job.
The house owned named Joel Dofitas failed to pay his electricity bill amounting P26, 000 and did not allow the disconnector to cut his lines. Joel together with his colleagues mauled the poor employee.
The police authorities arrested Dofitas because of his irresponsible action and currently facing charges of direct assault to person in authority and physical injury. The cops are already hunting the other suspects involved on the incident.
Cajilig reportedly suffered wounds and injuries due to the incident. Dofitas is known for threatening the disconnection team visiting his house to cut the line of electricity due to unpaid bills, according to Jaro Police investigation.
