Here’s a reaction from Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan after being chosen to sing the first Filipino Disney song “Gabay”.
Walt Disney Studios had recently revealed that KZ would be lending her voice to Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon”.
She’ll be singing “Gabay” which was historic as it would be the first-ever Filipino-language track on a Disney film. Noted that “Raya and the Last Dragon” tells the story of Raya — a warrior tasked to track down a legendary dragon in order to save the world.

With this, KZ posted on social media and said that that she’s simply grateful that she’s chosen to sing the first Filipino Disney track.
As for the release date, KZ revealed that “Gabay” will be available on Spotify starting March 5, 2021.
Filipino celebrities cheered for KZ in her latest milestone. Among the celebrities who congratulated her include TJ Monterde, Jed Madela, Catriona Gray, Inigo Pascual, AC Bonifacio, Morrisette Amon, Yeng Constantino, Moira dela Torre, and Chynna Ortaleza.
Prior to KZ, Filipino singers who officially recorded versions of Disney theme songs include Moira for “Mulan”, Janella Salvador for “Moana”, and Morissette Amon and Darren Espanto for “Aladdin”.
