Gregorio Killing Update, Trial Against Killer Cop Begins
GREGORIO KILLING UPDATE – The hearing into the brutal deaths of Sonya and Frank Gregorio at the hands of police officer Jonel Nuezca is now underway.
Back in December 20, 2020, the Philippines was shocked after a video was leaked showing how a policeman killed two innocent civilians in broad daylight. Since then, netizens were confused as to why a trial still wasn’t done despite the clear evidence against the killer cop.
But finally, two months after the incident, the hearing against the killer cop has begun. Florentino Gregorio, Sonya’s husband and father to Frank Anthony, testified in court during initial hearings on February 4.
“Nung pinapoint sa akin, pinatanggal ko mask niya. Pinatanong ko kung anong pangalan niya para nadidinig ng korte na siya ang tinutukoy ko“, Florentino said. According to an article from ABS-CBN, the first hearing focused on damages in the case.
Afterward, the next hearing would be held on February 20. Here, a family member who took the video would testify before the court. The aforementioned video was the viral “My father is a policeman” video.
Nuezca surrendered to the police after fleeing the scene. Meanwhile, Florentino emphasized that the story would’ve been flipped if there was no video. As per the article, he said: “Gusto ko mapagdusahan niya ‘yun“.
