Catholic Groups Stress Christine Dacera Was Never Canonized As A Saint

CHRISTINE DACERA – Catholic groups couldn’t stress enough that Christine Dacera, the flight attendant who died in a hotel, was never canonized as a saint.

The death of Christine Dacera was shrouded in controversy. Despite reports confirming her cause of death, Dacera’s mother was adamant that there was foul play involved in the death of her daughter. As such, the case dragged on for over a month.

This led to the internet making jokes regarding the issue. Among the obvious ones posted online was from a Facebook Netizen called “Sing”. He posted a picture of Christine Dacera with the caption:

“Christine Dacera is the newly canonized saint from the Philippines, Christine is the Patron Saints of Flight Attendants and Party Goers. She is the third recognize saint from the Philippines.“

The post instantly went viral and caught the attention of online Catholic pages. Among these pages was “Catholic Detective”. Ever since similar posts began to pop-up on social media, the page has been vocal about how Dacera was never canonized as a saint.

“She did not die in Defense of Chastity nor Of Faith. Wag niyong pilitin na pangatlong santo yan. Tantanan nyo!“, the page said.

Furthermore, the page stressed that people should let the soul of Christine Dacera rest. In another post the page emphasized:

“MAAWA KAYO SA KALULUWA NI CHRISTINE PATAHIMIKIN NYO ! ANONG HIMALA ANG NAGAWA O DIKAYA NAIPAGTANGOL NYA BA ANG SIMBAHANG KATOLIKA? TANTANAN NYO! She did not die inDefense of Chastity nor Of Faith.Wag niyong pilitin na pangatlong santo yan.“

Over a month after her death, Dacera still remained relevant on social media and news outlets primarily due to news of a potential movie to be produced regarding her death.

If this will be finalized, the producer said that the film will be more of a documentary-drama. It was also said that there is an independent producer who is interested to make a movie about Christine Dacera’s life.
