Smart Communications named BTS as its newest brand ambassador.

Smart Communications on Monday announced that it added South Korean pop group BTS to its roster of South Korean artists for the company’s most ambitious campaign yet.

Smart continued to bank on South Korean artists for its local campaigns — and this time, the company tapped BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys) for its most ambitious campaign yet.

BTS had joined the Smart family, headlining Smart’s “Live Smarter, Live with Purpose” campaign for this year.

Smart president and CEO Alfredo Panlilio said that the group emerged as the world’s biggest band because of their uplifting and meaningful music that brought hope and encouragement to their fans especially in the bleakest of times aside from their remarkable talent.

Panlilio also said that they hoped that with BTS, more Filipinos would “find purpose in everything they do” and “ultimately live smarter for a better world”.

According to Smart, the group would appear in a “Simple, Smart Ako” ad campaign that was set to be released within the first quarter of 2021.

Just like BTS who were able to inspire millions of young people across the globe through their music, Smart SVP and consumer wireless business head Jane Basas said that Smart Prepaid aimed to bring about amazing experiences to the Filipino youth through technology in order to make life easy, fast, and simple.

This way, the young generation are empowered to immerse in their interests and succeed with their pursuits,” Basas said.

Smart’s announcement came a month after Globe Telecom named South Korean pop group BLACKPINK as the company’s latest brand ambassador.
