#Aneurysm Trends On Twitter As Netizens Call For More Transparency

CHRISTINE DACERA – Netizens on Twitter got #Aneurysm as one of the top trends in PH social media following the death of Flight Attendant, Christine Dacera.

According to the Philippine National Police, the case was cut-and-dried. Dacera was found dead while in the bathtub of her own hotel room. Afterward, authorities said they already solved the case saying the victim suffered from sexual assault.

During a previous article, it was reported that the Flight Attendant’s cause of death was due to abrasions and hematoma. Afterward, the second cause of death was determined as an aneurysm or the bursting of an artery.

However, netizens are now divided on their stance on the issue. Among the people the PNP tagged as suspects in the case was a certain Valentine Rosales, a member of the LGBT community.

On his Instagram account, he said social media is quick to invent stories. Afterward, he called on the authorities to release the official copy of the autopsy. Furthermore, he claimed that nobody made malicious moves on the victim.

After similar other stories circulated social media, netizens followed suit and called for transparency from the PNP. Here are some of their comments on the issue:

I understand—we are all angry. A crime has been committed and we want to pin this on someone. But condemning people based on incomplete information that’s strategically being fed by the police on a piecemeal basis may make us fall for a narrative that may or may not be truthful.

But, with the amount of stories circulating on social media, things have yet to be verified. As such, netizens remain confused about what to believe. For now, all will have to wait and see the results of the official autopsy report.
