Ang-See: Government Execs Receive COVID-19 Vaccines Via “Official Channels”

Government execs received COVID-19 vaccines via “official channels”, according to Teresita Ang-See.

Teresita Ang-See, a Chinese-Filipino community civic leader, on Tuesday said that COVID-19 vaccines used by government officials went via “official channels” and weren’t fake.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año earlier said that a Cabinet official had already been vaccinated against COVID-19 aside from Presidential Security Group (PSG) members.

However, Ang-See said that she didn’t know if the COVID-19 vaccines used on PSG members were also “official”.

According to her, the COVID-19 vaccine used on government authorities went via “official channels”, adding that it’s approved, not fake, and not from the black market.

Ang-See also said that some 98,000 Chinese workers had been vaccinated against COVID-19 despite the fact that the Philippine government has yet to approve the emergency use authorization (EUA) of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate.

Noon pa ‘yang October, November lumalabas na ‘yang mga vaccination na ‘yan. That’s why I also alerted some doctors that I know sa DOH na nakakatakot na unscrupulous black marketeers ang nagbabakuna and if something happens it destroys our confidence in China vaccines especially,” Ang-See said.

According to her, the Department of Health has had many attempts to really find out because they had no source of information whether it was true or not, adding that they just wanted to caution.

In addition, Ang-See said that the vaccination of Chinese workers was “unlawful,” but that she agreed with Malacañang that it’s “good” that they had protection against COVID-19.

She also said that it’s good that they’re resourceful, but they should just be careful that the COVID-19 vaccines weren’t fake or it would create more harm to them.
