Regine Velasquez speaks about staying with ABS-CBN
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez has aired a statement why she chose to stay on ABS-CBN in spite of the non-renewal of its operational franchise.
In an interview with showbiz reporter MJ Felipe during the ABS-CBN’s 2020 Christmas Special on Sunday, December 20, the singer shared that she’s happy for staying as a Kapamilya.
Felipe then thanked Regine Velasquez for not leaving the network after congress denied its franchise renewal.
To which the singer responded: “Oo. Hahaha! Saan ba kami pupunta? May pupuntahan ba kaming iba?”
Regine and her husband-singer Ogie Alcasid are both talents of ABS-CBN.
It was in 2016 when Ogie Alcasid transferred to Kapamilya Network after being with TV5 and GMA-7.
On the other hand, Regine Velasquez left the Kapuso Network after being their for 20 years, last October 2018.
Regine’s career began after winning 1984 in Ang Bagong Kampeon and 1989 in the Asia Pacific Singing Contest.
She also ventured into acting and hosting. Among her projects include Star for a Night, Pinoy Pop Superstar and The Clash; and was also a judge on StarStruck and Idol Philippines.
