Lea Salonga and other members of the theater industry went to social media wherein they paid a tribute to the late Freddie Santos.

The Broadway star took to Facebook wherein she mourned the death of her “Daddy Warbucks.”

“Rest in peace, my Daddy Warbucks. I’ll never forget you. With love, your Annie,” Lea Salonga said.

“Freddie Santos passed away this morning. He was my first leading man, a mentor, a teacher. A brilliant writer and director. You will be missed, Tito Freddie,” Lea Salonga added.

Trumpets co-founder Audie Gemora also took to Facebook wherein he paid tribute to the late theater director and actor.

Jett Pangan, the frontman of OPM band The Dawn, for his part, remembered his memories with the theater icon.

Freddie Santos died in his sleep at his condominium unit in Quezon City on Thursday.

He passed away at the age of 64 due to diabetes.

Freddie Santos was a giant in the theater industry. He was also behind some of the hit songs such as “Points of View,” “Yakapin Mo Ako” and “Two Words,” popularized by Joey Albert and Pops Fernandez.

He last worked with Manila Hotel but prior to that, he has guided the theater productions of Resorts World Manila.
