According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the public should not immediately give donations and carefully evaluate to whom they are going to hand in their cash or in-kind donation.

It added that there are those who will take advantage of and make a profit out of donations from the people who only wanted to help.

When donating thru an organization, NDRRMC also noted that the public must see to it if their chosen organization has a proven track record in terms of helping victims of natural disasters.

Caritas Manila, a charitable organization also warned the public of fake donation drives that ask for money for typhoon victims.

According to Caritas Manila, the bank account that they use is not an individual’s personal bank account.

The group’s relief operation for the victims of the typhoon continues.

It was on November 1 when the country was devastated by Super Typhoon Rolly damaging house structures and other infrastructures and on November 12, another typhoon hit the country.

Typhoon Ulysses drenched almost the entire Luzon brought by continuous rains.

This resulted in the release of water from the water reservoir which is said to be one of the reasons why Cagayan Valley submerged underwater.
