Duterte creates task force for government response on Rolly and Ulysses
President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the creation of a task force for the government’s response on the devastation of Typhoon Ulysses and Super Typhoon Rolly.
“Ang gobyerno natin ay gumagawa ng mga patakaran na para matulungan, makabangon ‘yung tinamaan ng epekto ng typhoon. Kaya, gumawa ako ng hakbang, creation of a task force,” he said.
“I directed them to streamline, para mapadali ang rehabilitation efforts [for those] affected by the typhoon. Pangalawa, ‘yung isang task force ito ng different agencies ay halos lahat ng mga ahensiya sa gobyerno kasali dito,” he added.
It was on November 1 when the country faced the wrath of Super Typhoon Rolly killing at least 22 people and damaging properties while Typhoon Ulysses ravaged the country last Wednesday, November 12 submerging the entire Luzon.
Meanwhile, residents of Cagayan Valley particularly in the province of Cagayan and Isabela are crying for help as the two areas were drenched by floodwaters.
Many believe that the flooding was due to the release of water from the Magat Dam after it reached the spilling level due to continuous rains.
