President Duterte was set to address the nation on November 17, Says Palace

Malacañang on Monday said that President Rodrigo Duterte was scheduled to address the nation tomorrow evening, November 17, 2020.

In a Twitter post from CNN Philippines, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that the President will address the nation tomorrow.

Roque said during the Malacañang Press Briefing that President Duterte’s address to the nation and the IATF meeting were scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Last Sunday, the President had arrived in Cagayan and presided over a televised meeting with his Cabinet and local officials wherein he gave a speech and also handed down orders.

During the said meeting, the President traced the problem to climate change and the failure to stop mining and illegal logging as well.

President Duterte also stressed that more trees and less mining could help the soil remain stable to carry more water and to prevent landslides and floods.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health had recorded 407,838 total COVID-19 cases with 1,530 newly-recorded cases as of 4:00 p.m. of November 15, 2020.

Of these total cases, 25,677 were total active cases, 374,329 were total recoveries, and 7,832 were total coronavirus deaths.
