PNP Personnel Start Receiving Year-End Bonus, Cash Gifts

PNP personnel started receiving year-end bonus and cash gifts.

Policemen and civilian employees of the Philippine National Police (PNP) had began receiving their year-end bonus and cash gifts.

This, after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) had approved the release of almost PHP 8 billion to the police organization.

In a report on Manila Bulletin last Tuesday, PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas said that the year-end bonus and cash gifts had already been credited to the ATM payroll account of the Philippine National Police with the Landbank of the Philippines.

Sinas also said that the fund was released to their personnel who were qualified to receive year-end bonus and cash gifts, adding that the payment of bonus for personnel with administrative cases — especially those personnel who were suspended — was deferred.

It wasn’t immediately clear, however, if President Rodrigo Duterte had given bonus for police commanders for their participation in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Last 2016, President Duterte had approved the release of bonus ranging from PHP 50,000 to PHP 400,000 to police commanders as a form of gratitude for their effort in the illegal drug war.

Meanwhile, Sinas announced that Christmas parties were strictly prohibited within the police force to observe health protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
