Malacañang on Friday said that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) was currently working on formulating “new normal” guidelines.
This, as the Inter-Agency Task Force had started the process of identifying areas that could be placed under the so-called “new normal”.
In a report on GMA News Online, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. on Friday said in a statement that the Inter-Agency Task Force directed its sub-technical working groups to hold a meeting in order to formulate unified recommendations concerning guidelines that were applicable to areas that may eventually be placed under the so-called “new normal”.
In addition, Roque said that the meeting would be composed of health expert panels from the Department of Health (DOH) Technical Advisory Group, the Health Care Professionals’ Alliance Against COVID-19, and economic experts as well in order to balance economy and health.

At present, all areas in the Philippines were under varying levels of community quarantine in order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease.
As of 4:00 p.m. of October 9, the Department of Health recorded a total of 334,770 cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), including 6,152 total deaths, 275,307 total recoveries, and 53,311 total active cases.
