DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 334,770

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 334,770, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 334,770 with over 2,900 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 9, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #209 dated October 9, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,996 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,554 out of 2,996 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 334,770.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Friday reported that 12 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 53,311 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #209 dated October 9, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 9 only: Metro Manila with 1,094 new cases, Cavite with 282 new cases, Batangas with 166 new cases, Iloilo with 152 new cases, and Laguna with 147 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 1,045 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 275,307. Also, the Department of Health recorded 83 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,152.
