A guy named JP made rounds online after cycling for about 21 hours from Cavite to Pangasinan just to see his long-distance girlfriend.
According to John Paul “JP” Gatbonton, he started his journey on October 10 from Imus, Cavite to Anda, Pangasinan just so he could see his girlfriend Donna Ocomen in person and say ‘I love you.’
JP works in Cavite while Donna is a student and is taking an Accountancy course when the two of them meet through a Facebook group.
“The Life of an Introvert ang name nung Facebook group. Nagpost ako dun noong January 22, nag comment naman siya, and in-add ko siya sa FB,” said JP.
But unexpectedly, the two of them fell in love with each other.
In February, JP decided to court Donna.
They should have met in person for a long time but because the whole country was subjected to lockdown or quarantine in March, it did not went through.
Although their first meeting did not go ahead, JP did not despair.
He arranged some necessary documents such as barangay and health certificates and travel authority so that he could go to his girlfriend.
He eventually begun his journey. He cycled from Imus to Nueva Ecija, to spend the night at his parents’ house and the next day he went to Pangasinan.

Finally, he saw his girlfriend in person.
He said he lost his tiredness when he first glanced at his girlfriend and later he asked her if they are now legal as a couple.
JP said: “Legal na kami.”
“Walang distansya sa love at kapag mahal mo ang isang tao, gagawin mo lahat para sa kanya at maging tapat sa isa’t-isa,” he added.
JP received mixed reactions with some netizens said, “Sana All.”
