Why Duterte National Address Moved To October 14
DUTERTE NATIONAL ADDRESS – Malacañang revealed the reason why the address of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was moved to October 14.
One of the countries that recorded cases of COVID-19 is the Philippines. Currently, the whole nation is still under community quarantine measures as part of the efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
As of this writing, the Department of Health (DOH) has logged 342,816 cases of the disease. Out of the said total number, the health department recorded 6,332 deaths and 293,152 recoveries.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has greatly affected the Philippines, President Duterte is speaking to the public through a televised address every Monday.
However, yesterday, October 12, the Duterte national address did not take place. Malacañang announced that it is moved to October 14 and the Palace also revealed the reason why.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the President’s meeting his Cabinet for the discussion of “a very long agenda”.
According to the report, the meeting that caused the postponement of Duterte national address will discuss the steps to be take to save the economy from recession. Also, the problems about the mass transportation in the country will be discussed.
The Palace said that Pres. Duterte’s meeting with his Cabinet was prompted by Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Chua telling him of possible higher hunger incidence and malnourishment in the country.
Currently, the fight against COVID-19 continues. The wearing of a face mask and the practice of social distancing are now protocols.
