DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 363,888

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 363,888, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 363,888 with over 1,600 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 22, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #222 dated October 22, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,664 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,526 out of 1,664 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 363,888.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Thursday reported that nine operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 44,772 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #222 dated October 22, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 22 only: Cavite with 81 new cases, City of Malabon with 76 new cases, Davao City with 76 new cases, Iloilo City with 75 new cases, and Quezon City with 69 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 843 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 312,333. Also, the Department of Health recorded 38 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,783.
