DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 344,713

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 344,713, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 344,713 with over 1,900 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 13, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #213 dated October 13, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,990 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,831 out of 1,990 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 344,713.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Tuesday reported that 17 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 44,958 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #213 dated October 13, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 13 only: Metro Manila with 580 new cases, Cavite with 114 new cases, Rizal with 105 new cases, Laguna with 100 new cases, and Misamis Oriental with 94 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 327 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 293,383. Also, the Department of Health recorded 40 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,372.
