DepEd Admits Errors w/ Modules Given to Millions of Students
DepEd – The Department of Education admitted that there are errors with the modules given to millions of Filipino students.
Over the past few days, a lot of Filipino students and parents have posted the errors found in modules distributed to millions of students. The errors caused alarm and raised the concern of Filipino people.
Several class modules contain errors and lessons inappropriate from the students. Many netizens have expressed their disappointment with the modules.
On Friday (October 9, 2020), the Education Department admitted that there are few errors with self-learning modules but explained that it all goes under a quality assurance. The department also expressed its sadness about the inaccuracies.
“Inaamin natin na merong nakakalusot na mangilanngilan. Kami po’y nagpapasalamat sa mga nakakakita nito at pinapaabot sa ating kaalaman,” Education Undersecretary Toni Umali said.
Umali assured the quality of modules except for some errors. He also vowed to shape up the errors spotted in the learning materials. He also said that DepEd would not hold examinations in public schools this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Sa bilang na ibinigay ko, siguro naman puwede natin sabihin na, as general rule, undoubtedly our self-learning modules are all quality assured, except for some,” Umali added.
