DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 309,303

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 309,303, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 309,303 with over 2,000 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 29, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #199 dated September 29, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,025 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,641 out of 2,025 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 309,303.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Tuesday reported that four operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 50,925 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #199 dated September 29, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 29 only: Metro Manila with 628 new cases, Cavite with 279 new cases, Negros Occidental with 218 new cases, Laguna with 108 new cases, and Bulacan with 102 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 290 newly-reported recoveries and 68 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 252,930 and coronavirus deaths to 5,448.
