Last year, the onscreen tandem who became a couple in real-life went controversial. Julia was linked to her Between Maybes co-star Gerald Anderson who was in a relationship with Bea Alonzo at that time.
Amid that issue, Joshua showed support for Julia. Both Julia and Gerald denied that there was something going on between them aside from being movie partners.
A year after, the JoshLia tandem is set to do another movie again titled Love Unlock. Their popularity once again skyrocketed when they had this Twitter conversation.

Based on the article by Athena Yap in Abante Entertainment, that conversation of JoshLia on the micro-blogging social media platform prompted “something fishy” thoughts from netizens.
Joshua shared that Julia followed him back on Twitter. Then, the actress re-quote a tweet saying, “Sa IG follow back na din?”
Because of this, solid JoshLia fans got so much excited while there were those who did not like the possibility that they might get back together as a couple.
It was said that a netizen has this comment, “Marupok si Josh? Wag na please! You deserve better.” This commotion on social media about Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia happened because of their upcoming movie.
With this, the entertainment columnist said that many people came up with speculations that it is just “gamitan” part 2 to promote their new movie together.
