British Film Director Alan Parker died at the age of 76.
Alan Parker, a British film director who was known for directing “Bugsy Malone” and “Evita”, on Friday died due to his “lengthy illness”. He was 76 years old.
Alan was known for directing movies “Bugsy Malone”, “Evita”, and “Fame”. Other hit movies that he worked on include “Mississippi Burning”, “Midnight Express”, “Angela’s Ashes”, and “The Commitments”.
As a director, his last movie was “The Life of David Gale” last 2003 starring Kate Winslet and Kevin Spacey.

Alan was born in 1944 in London and he started working in an advertising company as a copywriter. He then moved on to writing and directing various commercials.
In addition, Alan was the chairman of the UK Film Council and also an original member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain. Moreover, he received a “knighthood” from Her Majesty the Queen last 2002.
Alan also gave his comprehensive collection of worksheets and scripts as a donation to the British Film Institute National Archive last 2018.
According to a spokesperson of Alan Parker’s family, Alan spent his retirement by decreasing his passion for painting and silk screen printing.
Alan was survived by his wife Lisa Moran-Parker, their five children, and seven grandchildren.
