A call center agent and a trainee of BPO company in Bacolod City had tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report.
A call center agent and a trainee of a certain Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company in Bacolod City had tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a report.
This, as the source from the said company — who had requested not to reveal his/her identity — told Premier News Ventures (PNV) Media that a call center agent and a trainee had already been isolated after receiving their COVID-19 test results last week.
Citing health protocols, the management of a BPO company already issued a memorandum to all their employees in their site in Bacolod City informing them that the company will impose a 50-percent capacity for those working on-site while the remaining agents will work from their respective homes.
The source also told PNV Media that their firm had already tested 200 out of 500 employees through rapid testing, adding that all employees were already informed regarding the situation.
The BPO company will release its statement during an online press conference this week.

Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran — the chairman of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 — confirmed the said news to PNV Media about the information, saying that it was the responsibility of the company to take care of its employees.
He also said that he already wrote to the managers of all BPO companies based in Bacolod city to follow necessary protocols which already set by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Moreover, Familiaran urged BPO companies to promote good health, safety, and protection of its employees especially in the middle of the pandemic.
