Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco Says Young Man Stranded in Town Dies of Heart Attack
Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco reported that a young man who was stranded in Zamboanga City allegedly died due to a heart attack.
Mayor Climaco expressed her condolences towards the family of a male locally stranded passenger after he died at a local pension house in Zamboanga City due to heart attack last Saturday evening (July 4, 2020).
The 19-year-old teen arrived in the area last June 29 and bound for his hometown in Jolo. The returning OFWs and stranded people shall be taken care of by the respective local government units based on quarantine protocols.
“The city government of Zamboanga condoles with the family of the locally stranded individual (LSI) from Jolo who expired due to heart attack at a local pension house Saturday night,” Climaco said.
The city mayor also explained that the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao- Department of Social Welfare and Development assessed and placed the LSI at the pension while waiting for the travel arrangement to bring him home together with Jolo residents.
Climaco also reported that a 33-year-old stranded lady tested positive for the coronavirus disease based on her test results. The woman also arrived in the city last June 29 and was found for Jolo.
