Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri had tested positive again for COVID-19.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri on Monday had tested positive again for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) shortly before the 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.
This, as he said that three rapid tests had detected anti-bodies inside his body, and a swab test confirmed that he’s positive for COVID-19 again.
In a text message obtained by ABS-CBN News, Zubiri told reporters that it’s possible that the COVID-19 test detected “remnants of the dead virus cells” inside his body as he was a COVID-19 survivor according to his doctors.
He also said that he decided to refrain from any other appointments, adding that he wanted to head back to his isolation room for self-quarantine. In addition, he said that he felt “absolutely fine” as he didn’t feel any symptoms, yet it was better to be safe and to keep the public safe from COVID-19.
