LSI from Iloilo Reportedly Escapes Mandatory Quarantine, Attends Birthday Party in Murcia

An LSI from Iloilo had reportedly escaped the mandatory quarantine and attended child’s birthday party in Murcia.

A locally-stranded individual (LSI) from Iloilo had reportedly escaped the mandatory quarantine and decided to attend the birthday party of his child in Murcia.

This, as Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas said that the incident happened last week wherein the said individual arrived in Bacolod City.

Under the quarantine measures of the Provincial Government, individuals who had a residency that was located outside of Bacolod City were required to undergo Reverse Transcription – Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests at the BREDCO port and undergo mandatory quarantine until their results were released.

However, Rojas revealed that the said individual took his RT-PCR test and went to his child’s birthday party that was also attended by four people – including Murcia’s patient #11.

In a report on Sunstar, the COVID-19 test result of the said individual was released last Wednesday showing that he had tested positive for coronavirus disease.

The local government then conducted contact tracing for those who had attended the said party following the release of the COVID-19 test result. Moreover, those who had attended the said birthday party underwent RT-PCR tests last July 24.
