Netizens have reacted to GMA News anchor and reporter Raffy Tima’s post showing support for ABS-CBN amidst the network’s franchise renewal woes.
Earlier, the 45-year-old veteran journalist took to the image-sharing platform, Instagram wherein he posted a photo of ABS-CBN tower covered in darkness.
“Respect and support for my fellow journalists. We will continue to be with you in the news,” he wrote as the accompanying caption.
His post was then flooded with mixed reactions and comments from the netizens.
“Kudos to Raffy for your principled and fearless expression of solidarity. This no longer just about ABS. The congressional hearings have all but revealed the real intention of those opposing the franchise. And that is to intimidate, harass and silence the free and independent media,” Instagram user ginaginacruz commented.
“Saludo po ako sa mga katulad nyo pp,” jeffrey_vardeleon noted.
“thank you for always showing your support sir since day 1 i salute you pp,” edmundmartizano24 wrote.
Meanwhile, according to a showbiz insider of PEP.ph, the fate of the Kapamilya Network will be revealed this week since today, July 6, is the final day of hearing on ABS-CBN’s franchise application.

It was on May 4 when the ABS-CBN franchise expired.
On May 5, the operation of network TV and radio stations nationwide was suspended due to a cease and desist order by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
