Congressman Mike Defensor, who voted yes to ABS-CBN denial, divulge a message about his daughter Mikee who has been vocal in supporting the Kapamilya Network.
The Anakalusugan representative was among the 70 congressmen who voted yes for the denial of the ABS-CBN franchise application last Friday, July 10.
Meanwhile, controversies spark after Mikee Defensor took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she posted a message of support for ABS-CBN.
“But at the end of the day, I’m not the one in Congress. And more importantly, I am NOT my father. My heart goes out to those who are greatly affected by this, most especially the 11,000 workers who have lost their jobs in the middle of a pandemic,” a portion of her post noted.
Mike Defensor clarified in an interview with Karen Davila via ANC that he has “no problem” with his daughter giving support to the Kapamilya Network.
But according to him, he cautioned his daughter because her statement is being used to create issues between them.
“In fact, before she posted that, she asked me if she could post such a message and I said, ‘Yes, no problem.’ It’s just now that I’ve been telling her na, ‘Mikee, you have to be careful because some people are using it as a narrative as if you are fighting me or they are creating a problem between father and daughter and I think we both understand that,” he said.
