Kim Atienza to Lito Atienza: “salamat ulit papa. I’m so proud of you.”
Kapamilya TV host Kim Atienza or popularly known as Kuya Kim thanked his father and Buhay Partylist Representative Lito Atienza for clarifying the issues thrown at ABS-CBN.
The 78-year-old lawmaker made a clarification during the franchise renewal hearing on Monday, July 6, about the issues thrown by the Association of Brokers of the Philippines (KBP) at the Kapamilya Network.
Lito Atienza also questioned the “clarification” sought by Deputy Minority Leader Janette Garin (Iloilo 1st District) on the Dengvaxia controversy, although the franchise of the Kapamilya network is being discussed at the hearing.
Congressman Lito Atienza has garnered praise from netizens for making a confrontation with fellow congressmen.

Meanwhile, It’s Showtime host Kim Atienza took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein he thanked his father for defending his home network.
53-year-old Matanglawin host tweeted: “salamat ulit papa. I’m so proud of you.”
Lito Atienza served as mayor of Manila from 1998 to 2007.
He also served as secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) from 2007-2009, under the term of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In the past hearings of ABS-CBN as it seeks to be granted with a 25-year legislative franchise, the network’s officials and congressmen engaged in intense questioning.
But the long and emotional interpellation of Garin, a medical doctor and former secretary of the Department of Health (DOH), caught the attention of many.
According to PEP.ph, the congressman accused ABS-CBN of “public health misinformation” in relation to the Dengvaxia controversy in 2016.
