DOH Reports Almost 4,000 New COVID-19 Cases In PH

Almost 4,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Philippines, according to DOH.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported almost 4,000 new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, which brought the total number of cases to over 89,000.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 7:00 p.m. of Thursday, July 30, 2020.

According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #138 dated July 30, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,954 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 89,374.

In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 80 out of 91 current operational laboratories. Since Monday, the DOH didn’t report the fresh and late cases in its case bulletin.

However, the Department of Health mentioned in a separate post that 1,320 cases out of 3,954 were reported as “fresh” cases and 2,634 were identified as “late” cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 38,075 new recoveries and 23 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 65,064 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,983.

Moreover, the Department of Health reported 22,327 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #138 dated July 30, 2020.

The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of July 30 only: Metro Manila with 1,703 new cases, Cebu with 958 new cases, Laguna with 177 new cases, Rizal with 90 new cases, and Cavite with 87 new cases.
