The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today, July 19, 2020.

According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #127 dated July 19, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,241 new coronavirus cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 67,456.

However, the Department of Health didn’t report the fresh and late cases, instead, the DOH reported that the newly-confirmed cases on Sunday were reported based on the total tests done by 74 out of 84 current operational laboratories.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 398 new recoveries and 58 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 22,456 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,831.

Moreover, the Department of Health reported 43,160 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #127 dated July 19, 2020.

The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of coronavirus cases as of July 19 only: Metro Manila with 1,625 new cases, Laguna with 115 new cases, Cavite with 76 new cases, Rizal with 75 new cases, and Cebu with 55 new cases.
