Angel Locsin Reacts to Villafuerte’s Suggestion to Lopez Family to Sell ABS-CBN

Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin took to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein she expressed her opinion about the apparent suggestion of Deputy Speaker Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte Jr. to the Lopez family about selling the ABS-CBN Corporation.

On Friday, the congressman urged the Lopez family to just sell ABS-CBN if they really care for its over 11,000 employees who lost their job following its franchise denial last July 10.

“My suggestion to the Lopez family, they just sell the corporation, and if they really love the 11,000 employees or more and if they really want to serve the Filipino people, ibenta na lang nila ‘yung kumpanya,” he said.

His statement generated reactions and among who commented is no less than Angel Locsin.

“Ito po ba ang plano ever since? Palitan ang management para sa “iba” mapunta? Sana hindi nangyari ang lahat ng ito in favor sa “cronies” at para sa “media propaganda” ng mga gustong manlinlang sa taong bayan. Marami pong nakabantay. Ako’y umaasang gagawin natin kung ano pong makakabuti para sa bayan at hindi sa mga personal na agenda.” she noted in an Instagram story.

Her statement which was retrieved by ABS-CBN News and was posted on Facebook has earned a fair share of comments from the netizens.

Last week, the House panel convened to wrap up the hearings on the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise and to give the final decision whether to approve or deny its petition for a legislative franchise.

The Committee on Legislative Franchises joins the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability in giving the final verdict on the ABS-CBN franchise.

The House panel has decided to deny the franchise renewal application by the country’s largest broadcasting network.
