Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand will give USD 100 million to racial equality, social justice, and education.

NBA legend Michael Jordan, together with Jordan Brand, will give USD 100 million over the next 10 years to organizations “dedicated” to ensuring racial equality, social justice, and education.

This, as Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand released a statement announcing the USD 100-million donation to racial equality, social justice, and education.

“Black Lives Matter”

In a joint statement, it said that they will remain committed to improving and protecting the lives of Black people until the “ingrained racism” that was present in the country was “completely eradicated”.

The said announcement came after Nike, a parent company of Jordan brand, committed to giving USD 40 million over the next four years in order to support the Black community in the US as protests present in the country condemning institutional racism swept across the United States.

Michael Jordan previously released his statement following George Floyd’s death and protests in the United States, saying that he was “deeply saddened, truly pained, and plain angry” as he saw and felt everyone’s “pain, outrage, and frustration”. Jordan also said that every person “needs to be part of the solution” and everyone would work together in order to “ensure justice for all”.

Meanwhile, Rapper Kanye West launched his college fund for George Floyd’s daughter Gianna and also pledged to give USD 2 million to charities that were associated with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
