32-year-old Filipino-Australian Melanie Perkins has been named as the youngest billionaire in Australia.

She emerged the 82nd spot among 250 richest personalities in Australia with a net worth of a whopping, AUD 3.6 billion, or 123 billion pesos.

After clinching the list of elite billionaires, she was notified as to the third-richest woman in Australia.

Based on the report of an entertainment website, PEP.ph, she has been recognized by the Australian Financial Review as Australia’s “richest entirely self-made billionaire.”

Melanie Perkins is the co-founder of Canva, a graphic design company that was established less than a decade ago alongside her fiancé Cliff Obrecht and a certain Cameron Adams.

Their company recently secured an AUD 87 million in new funding from China-based company, Sequoia China and Blackbird, an Australian venture capital fund.

It was in 2006 when she and fiance founded an online platform called Fusion Books which helps to make a design of high school yearbooks.

It was even tagged as the largest yearbook publisher in Australia and has expanded in New Zealand and France.

Then, Canva was established as a by-product of Fusion Books.

As of press time, Canva is being utilized by more than 30 million users “to design around the globe, collaborating on presentations, marketing materials, social media content, videos and more—at a whopping 80 designs per second and a total over 3 billion designs created since launch.”
