This, as Mayor Bowser posted on her Twitter account thanking Rep. John Lewis for joining her at the Black Lives Matter Plaza in front of the White House in Washington, DC.

In her Twitter post, Muriel said that she and Lewis walked the said path before and they will “continue marching on, hand in hand” as they wanted to elevate their voices “until justice and peace prevail”.

Mayor Bowser said in an interview on Fox that the Black Lives Matter Plaza became “a centering point” and a place for healing, strategizing, and talking, adding that the Black Lives Matter Plaza was also “a place of redress”.

Bowser also said that it was “a right” in the United States wherein citizens across the country came to their nation’s capital in order to deliver their grievances at the footstep of the people’s house.
