Two (2) COVID-19 positive inmates of MPD Station 6 escaped from Delpan Evacuation Center, a quarantine facility in Manila.

The incident is first reported by ABS-CBN News which was posted on social media platforms particularly on Twitter.

While the two inmates remain at large, fear of contracting the deadly disease is inevitable thus cases of COVID-19 continue to surge.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health announced via its latest bulletin that the country has recorded 552 additional cases (119- fresh and 433- late cases), 70 new recoveries, and 3 new deaths as of Monday, June 1, 2020.

Based on the record of the country’s health department, the Philippines has now a total of 18,638 confirmed cases with 3,979 recoveries and 960 deaths.

With the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in over 200 territories, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in China in 2019.

Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.

Updates:

One (1) inmate has been captured by the authorities earlier but the other one remains at large.

Upon the arrest, they will be brought back to the quarantine facility respectively in Delpan, Binondo in Manila.

According to SunStar, both inmates who escaped the quarantine facility will be charged for putting the lives of other people in danger.
