According to Carlos Dominguez III, the Secretary of the Department of Finance, the “Bayanihan” spirit exemplified by corporations and individual taxpayers deserved recognition as they’re keeping up with the Republic Act 11469 of the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act and filing their early payment of income tax returns.

By doing these, corporations and individual taxpayers had provided the administration the much needed additional funds in order to sustain the social amelioration programs, emergency health measures, as well as the economic stimulus packages in the middle of a global health crisis caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

In a press release, the Department of Finance stated that taxpayers who already filed their income tax returns within the original deadline or before the extended deadline could amend their tax returns at any time on or before the final extended deadlines set by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
