Celebrities particularly the Kapamilya stars have reacted over the opening statement of Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta for the franchise hearing of ABS-CBN.
On May 26, 2020, the lower house tackled the franchise renewal of Alto Broadcasting System – Chronicle Broadcasting Network or ABS-CBN.
In the said hearing, the congressman stressed that the country’s largest broadcasting network “did not comply with the provisions in the expired 25-year franchise.”
But the said hearing received a sour impression from the celebrities who were able to watch the discussion online.
In the opening statement of Congressman Marcoleta, it premiered a video of Kapamilya star Kim Chiu who recently made rounds online over her viral “Bawal Lumabas” video.
“Hindi nag-comply ang ABS-CBN kaya hindi sila pwedeng lumabas at magpalabas,” the Congressman said as part of his opening speech during the said hearing.
According to Marcoleta, the network failed to addressed issues that the network had over the years such as “violation of workers’ rights,” failure to pay taxes,” and to name a few.
Prior to hearing, ABS-CBN closed its doors following an order from the National Telecommunications Commission which took effect last May 5, 2020.
Meanwhile, celebrities couldn’t help but react over the opening statement of the deputy speaker.

Celebrities, blame your company ! Its nobodys fault you know, its the management’s duty to see to it that everything is set in place, you have requirements to comply nd follow, nobody is exempted ! Walang exempted ! Clear ?
Kht pa himayin ng himayin ang issue ng franchise ng ABS CBN kun di rin lng pgbibigyan ang renewal it’s pointless Sayang ang oras…may mga problems na dpt bigyan ng pansin…it’s either you let abs cbn renew or not…Ganun kasimple…di na pnapatagal Yan…kasi sa ngayon may pandemic na nga tinanggalan pa ng konting kwsiyahan ang mga ordinaryong pilipinong tulad ko.
