The test results conducted on President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go for coronavirus disease or COVID-19 were already out. As announced by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go at about 11:00 p.m. of March 13, the results were both “negative”.
This, as Senator Bong Go said that he and President Duterte were “fit and healthy to perform our duties.” Yet, Go advised the public to “take precautionary measures seriously and comply with the advice of our health officials” in order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 and to remain healthy while still being able to “perform our mandate to the Filipino people.”

Go also said that elected officials should be able to continue serving the country without putting the health of Filipino people at risk.
Both President Duterte and Senator Go underwent testing for the coronavirus (COVID-19) a few hours before the President announced the decision of the IATF to implement a community quarantine in Metro Manila. This was a preemptive measure for the President considering that he regularly has close contact with his Cabinet members who may have also been in close contact with infected patients or carriers of the said virus.
