PLDT To Boost Internet Speed To Customers Of Metro Manila

PLDT will be implementing speed boosts for its Home FIBR customers in Metro Manila and parts of greater Manila.

PLDT was currently working on its technical preparations, expecting its customers to experience the speed boost by next week.

This, as Metro Manila will be placed under community quarantine for a month starting March 15, 2020, in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19. Because of community quarantine, most companies and schools were encouraged to implement a work/study from home policy to its employees.

PLDT announced that the company will be implementing speed boosts for its Home FIBR customers in the following areas: Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Laguna, and Cavite. Also, PLDT committed to having a minimum speed of 25MBPS.

Aside from the speed boost for Home FIBR, PLDT was extending its PHP 199 double data load (from 12GB to 24GB) for its prepaid users to April. According to PLDT-Smart Public Affairs Head Ramon R. Isberto, the internet speed boost of PLDT “should be enough to serve the needs of several simultaneous users in the household.”

Following this announcement, Smart has expanded its list of free-to-access sites, including the official sites of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMMC) and Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

  2. To boost metro manila speed PLDT company? Do the other subscribers pay less than those in metro manila? Your service in Cavite and Bataan is indeed so poor. So when you give it all in metro manila, can the ones in the provinces pay less? Your so proud of this news but I guess you did not consider the piled up complaints you have of having a slow net despite a subscripition of 10mbps just for a residential unit.

Can you explain your side PLDT?
