In Lingayen, Pangasinan, some people are worried over the reports that a Filipino-Australian who visited their province has tested positive for coronavirus upon the person’s return to Australia.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Lingayen, Pangasinan Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil admitted that he also spent stressful nights about it. In line with it, he tested for coronavirus and the result recently arrived.

Mayor Bataoil tested negative for coronavirus. According to him, he experienced no symptoms within the 14 days but he opted to undergo a testing “to allay the fears” of his people.

Based on the report, the Mayor’s specimen was checked by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa. Here’s what he said on social media over the result:

“God is truly good to us. The RITM result just came in. I am negative for COVID 19. Praise God,” – Mayor Bataoil.

Currently, there are 170 people who are monitored in Lingayen as they had a close contact with the Filipino-Australian who is positive for coronavirus in Australia. Reportedly, the woman came to the province for a class reunion last February 22.
