North Korea Fires Two ‘Ballistic Missiles’ Into Sea, Says Military In Seoul

North Korea fired two “short-range ballistic missiles” into the Sea of Japan, according to Seoul’s military.

North Korea on Saturday fired two projectiles that were presumed to be “short-range ballistic missiles” into the East Sea, according to Seoul’s military.

This, as the South’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that these projectiles were fired from North Pyongan province in North Korea into the Sea of Japan, which was also known as the East Sea, adding that the military was “monitoring for additional launches and maintaining readiness”.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry in Japan said that the North launched what appeared to be “ballistic missile-like object(s)”, adding that there had been no indication of anything coming down in Japan’s territory or its exclusive economic zone.

The latest launch from the North came amid a prolonged hiatus in disarmament talks with the United States.
