NBA Warns Players Over Interactions With Supporters

From “bump fists” to “high-five”, NBA warned players over their interactions with their supporters.

Players have been given a series of recommendations from the NBA as the league attempted to limit the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on basketball.

This, as ESPN on Monday reported that a memo sent to the teams had “outlined short-term measures” that aimed at protecting its players from exposure to COVID-19, recommending that players interacting with supporters should “bump fists” rather than “high-five”.

In a memo issued by the NBA and NBA Players Association, it said that the health and safety of its players, coaches, staff, and supporters were “paramount”, thus, they were “consulting with infectious disease experts, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and a world-renowned infectious disease researcher at Columbia University.” Also, the NBA and NBA Players Association were “in regular communication“.
