Mongolia Records 1st Coronavirus Case, Decides To Put Cities Under Lock Down
MONGOLIA – The country decided to put its cities under a lock down following a reported case of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
The COVID-19 or the 2019 novel coronavirus is currently one of the biggest international concerns. It has spread in several countries across the globe and has taken thousands of life.
The said disease first sprung in Wuhan City in China late December 2019. It left the city under an outbreak which prompted the Chinese government to lock it down to curb the spread of the disease.
More than 70,000 people were infected in China. The global death toll due to coronavirus also does not fall below 2,000.
Italy is also currently on a huge fight against the coronavirus. Over 9,000 are infected and more than 400 people died of the disease in the country.
The Italian government has decided to put Lombardy region and 14 provinces under a lockdown. Shortly after locking those places, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte extended the lockdown to whole Italy.
Recently, another country confirmed its 1st case of the 2019 novel coronavirus. Mongolia recorded its 1st case of the disease after a French man working in the country tested positive.
The said patient came from France and transited through Moscow. The authorities have identified over 150 people the patient met and had a close contact with.
Based on a news update from ABS-CBN News, following their 1st case of the novel coronavirus, Mongolia placed its cities under a lock down.
