Following Visit To Senate, Mayor Sara Duterte Undergoes Self-Quarantine At Her Home
MAYOR SARA DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor decided to undergo a self-quarantine in an “isolated bedroom” at her home following a Senate attendance.
The Philippine Senate building is currently under a temporary lockd-down. The decision to stop the proceedings for a while came after a guest tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Currently, there are 49 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines. The Filipinos now are on the watch as there are several patients under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs).
With regards to the Senate guest who tested positive for coronavirus, she had a contact with Senator Sherwin Gatchalian. Sen. Nancy Binay was also present during the hearing. They placed themselves under self-quarantine.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also decided to go on self-quarantine after attending a Senate hearing. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she also had a lunch meeting with Sen. Gatchalian.
Mayor Sara Duterte is currently “confined in an isolated bedroom at her residence” as per the statement from her office. Meanwhile, she continues to work through “emails, messaging, and videotelecon”.
Based on the report, the Davao City Mayor is not showing symptoms of coronavirus but she opted to quarantine herself to protect the people around her.
Aside from Mayor Duterte, a helper in their household is also under quarantine now. The said household helper felt “unwell” last night.
