Ghosting May Lead To A Serious Mental Health Problem, Says Experts

Experts on Thursday, February 13, warned the public against the possible effect of ghosting, that is, the process of leaving a person without a word.

This, as Estrella Magno, a psychologist, said in an interview that depression “will set in, the helplessness, the hopelessness: once you’re being ghosted by a certain person. She added that every person should look for possible red flags.

A cultural analyst stated that the tendency to ghost their partners could be because of their “shyness”.

According to Jimuel Naval, a professor, those persons who were being ghosted were experiencing depression, saying that these people just wanted to “disappear”. Yet, according to Magno, depression could be related to a person’s background.

Magno also said that the main reason of having depression was because “the parents were absent not only physically but emotionally, psychologically.”
